Independent IT advisory
I offer an independent technical opinion to those who have to make IT decisions that carry weight for years: which software to adopt, which supplier to choose, whether a quote is fair, whether an architecture will hold up. I do not resell products or licences: my only interest is that the choice is the right one for you.
What I do, in practice
- Assessment of software, platforms and suppliers, with written criteria and comparison.
- Review of existing architectures and code: risks, technical debt, priorities for action.
- IT strategy and investment plan proportionate to the size of the company.
- Review of security, backups and business continuity.
- Support for owners and management in negotiations with technology suppliers.
Who it is for
For owners and management teams that have no in-house IT manager, or that want a second opinion before signing an important contract.
A real example
I directly manage the Linux servers, releases and security of the applications I have in production: the advice I give is the same I apply to my own systems. View the projects →
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between an independent IT consultant and a supplier?
A supplier proposes the products and services it sells. An independent consultant has nothing to resell: they are paid for their opinion, so they can also recommend the cheapest solution, or doing nothing at all.
When do you need IT advisory?
Before a decision that is expensive or hard to undo: changing your business software, choosing a supplier, starting the development of a piece of software, moving to the cloud. A few days of analysis cost far less than a wrong choice.
Do you also work as an external IT manager?
Yes, with an agreed regular presence: a stable technical point of reference for decisions, suppliers and priorities, without the cost of a full-time in-house role.
